An image of the composer often comes to mind when I'm getting ready to play. I see them sitting down to play what I'm about to play. It's kind of nerve wracking actually like they're watching.

I sometimes get images when I listen - like a spring thaw in The Moldau - but when I'm playing I seem to be totally occupied with anticipating the next note.
