Off the top of my head, great free-jazz pianist Muhal Richard Abrams is playing in midtown the weekend you are here. I think it's on the 16th, though...the day you arrive.

that place looks cool! i wonder if this is the same john zorn that taught in the RC at U-mich in the 70s when i was there..

i used to visit punk clubs in that nabe in the early 80s. something tells me it is very different now.....
