I've got a choral concert coming up on Thursday--four choirs doing a few "traditional" stand-on-risers songs, then a bunch of show choir type things. (Did anyone see "Glee" on TV the other night?)
Doo-Wop (Hi, OT!), disco, Motown, plus some Beatles and some other weird random stuff thrown in. I'm not sure I get what the "theme" of this concert is, other than Stuff The Chorus Master Likes.
It's music I don't usually play--so it's kind of fun. Left hand gets all the glory!

I'm here...not practicing anything new; some Ives song accompaniments for a CD...for solo music, I must be in some midlife musical crisis because I can't think of what to learn next...

Concert was last night--it was fun! Lots of left-hand action, especially in the disco medley.
I had a blast. Playing ranged from OK to great. The piano, bummer, still is sucky bad, though. I think I broke something during "Boogie Wonderland."
Hopefully the school will invest some $$ in it over the summer--it needs some mechanical stuff done. The tuning, soundboard, etc. seem to be in pretty good shape--the hammers aren't even too bad. But it needs a bit of TLC.

Well it got sent to JFK instead of Boston. Sent quite late. Now my wife is away working in Michigan for two weeks as of Sunday night and I have two kids to take care of - can't get to the warehouse to get the piano unless I have a ferry reservation.
Recital??? No time for that, since we have a performance a week from tomorrow, on July 14th. Of course, I'm not playing piano (my piano teacher Janne will cover that) but some guitar and I have a bunch of vocal solos to deal with...
