CHAS:
I've been buried in homework and accompanying assignments but I sure am glad you showed up. I am just checking in but I'll be back later in the week with loads of questions. Love the hooters shorts. |

I could see a movement arising out of this -- kind of like the red hat society.

CHAS, when and why did you start learning piano? What are you working on now?
(Thanks for posting the pic; I was dying of curiosity |

Started piano at about 5 years of age. Submitted under duress. Whined my way out of it at 7. Started again about 50 years later. Then I tried a cello while trying to get my piano moved to my new home. Presently working on a Bach Minuet in Suzuki 3 for two for cello that I never liked and Fairytales by Squire. I am working on these on the cello, however. The cello is taking all my musical energy at the present. |

I'm going to repeat this question that got lost in all the Hooters frenzy.
Can you tell us more about your farming enterprise. What do you farm? How many siblings do you have and what's your birth order? Where did you grow up? |

Hey CHAS. How did you feel when you realized I
Did you react like the image in the pic? Do you work at Hooters just part-time? (I thought about starting a national chain called "Woodies" based on the same sexist, tight-shorts theme). Where have you lived besides Utah? What are some of your favorite places and why? What was your most interesting job? Have you had any life-changing events (like my car accident) that made you look at life differently or gave you wisdom? Do you have a guest room? |

How was the concert in the canyon? I must have missed that thread.
By the way, your picture is much nicer to look at than TomK's! And Tom, you were always invited to our party, you just were never around for the invitation. |

Have been slacking off. Need to catch up with my duties this month.
Here goes- More Than You Wanted to Know. The farming operation grew cotton, soybeans, wheat and grain sorghum. I worked the commodities market during the 80s when Willie Nelson was doing the Farm Aid thing. We were farming about 3300 acres. We paid cash for a 560 acre farm. We reached a point of land ownership at which we could pocket the same amount of $ by leasing the land. We sold the equipment, my share paid off the debt I had taken on buying into the corporation I had formed. Cotton is very threatened. The weather is changing. The only rains during the growing season came from hurricanes. It was time to spend a wad to add irrigation on my largest farm. Got a good offer for the largest farm and I sold it last January. Still have a 1/3 interest in a farm and will inherit one farm and expect to inherit two others Siblings: A wingnut older brother. He is a dentist. He lives north of Memphis. A FOX news watching sister. She lives in Anchorage. Her husband works for BP. Grow up? Will grow up when my father does. I was reared in the Bootheel of Missouri. That is the part that sticks down into Arkansas. |

How did I feel when I learned I was the WTF of the month?
000hhh *h*t. Then realized that most of the forumites probably know more than they wanted to about me. Thought the Hooter's picture was more than anyone wanted to see. Still can't believe I did that. My career at Hooter's is over. Something about filling out wrong part of the uniform. Concert in the Canyon. Tim Fain, violinist played Bach's Violin Concerto in E minor (I think that is the proper name) in its entirety. It was extraordinarily silent in the box canyon when he started. A quiet we rarely experience in heated and cooled buildings with traffic outside. Then the sound of the violin started, the canyon walls created a superb acoustic chamber. I will not forget that. The violinist was followed by two pianists on the one piano. Forgettable. This was followed by a Beethoven Quintet that was great. The playing and the acoustics were extrordinary. Will be going back, despite the $300 per ticket cost. If you missed my earlier comments. There was a 20 minute bus ride, followed by a 40 minute boat ride to a small box canyon for this concert. There was wine and hor d'ouevres afterward. The musicians joined us. |

Lived in Colorado ski country. Interesting people and great place. It was starting to become too crowded.
Epiphany: During my college days my main concern was being well dressed and staying in denial about my homosexuality. I spent a lot of money on clothes and drank a lot to hide my sexuality from myself. The War in Vietnam was on. I was walking towards the store where I frequently spent an obscene amount of money on clothes when I suddenly took a right at the Jack In The Boxand found myself walking toward where I lived instead. At that point I became more concerned about the world and its people and much less concerned about my appearance. Soon afterward, with two other law students I walked into classrooms in protest of the war. We stayed until the professors walked out and the students started discussions or left. Yes, we have a guest room. PM me when you are headed this way. |

There was no sexual epiphany.
After 35 years of experimentation I decided that maybe I was gay afterall. |

Job I liked?
For the first five or six years driving a bus at a ski resort was a lot of fun. Coworkers to ski with. Guests to joke with. Then the management changed and the fun turned into a job more with every season. |
