Yes!
My car can just flash the lights from off to on by pulling in the stalk. That's what I do during the day, or dusk. And the quick off and on is what I meant for nighttime...

(lots of long trips out west backpacking during my formative driving years - or up to Canada for canoeing. It gave me a chance to watch all those trucks.)

Oh yeah, now that I think of it, did you ever know anyone that had to use one of those uphill gravel thingees to stop the truck? I used to see them in the mountains and wonder....

Those are called "runaway ramps" and yes I saw them used plenty. Colorado is the only state that won't issue you a citation for brake mal-adjustments if you will just use the things. They are usually loose pea-gravel with thicker and heavier gravel underneath going down about three or four feet or else very very loose dirt -- like peat. The thinking is that the first 50 or 100 feet or so won't damage the truck -- the rest may do some damage but will save your life and keep the cargo intact.

California tickets you because the assumption is that you were either going too fast, were overloaded or had something out of adjustment, hence some really spectacular crashes have occurred in California.

I have never used one although I thought about it a few times. Pianos (even a full load) aren't that heavy compared to say, dog food or soda pop so I never had any really scary times weight-wise in the piano truck.

I remember once on I-70 around Vail I heard a honking horn behind me and pulled to the right and got passed by a CAR CARRIER whose brakes were smoking and he had about 15 brand spanking new cars lurching back and forth. He obviously didn't want to lose the cars and he made it to the bottom okay but then got pulled over by a FLEET of Colorado state troopers -- and deservedly so.

I don't miss that and don't miss salt being illegal in washington and oregon -- two of the nation's most mountainous states.

Well my first question would be would you consider me a pro?

My second question would be "How strong is the lyre?" (sorry couldn't help it) Big Grin

I'll just say that, for you, I'd help you find the best quality service at the best possible price.

How many stairs at each end?

Just for that, I'll have you know I set up my next door neighbor's grand yesterday without tipping it on the lyre! Neener

Okay, so it was only a 5.5 footer.....

Steps? Don't know. Oh well, I just found out it's a moot point anyway. The move won't happen.

Thank you very much for the gracious offer, however. Smiler
