Hey Quirt, your g/f's a real looker. How did you manage that?

Not only THAT MB, she is the ultimate hostess and lovely!

So, Quirt...just HOW DID YOU MANAGE THAT?

Was it the 4 ovens/stoves in the new kitchen?

(you have to ask QE about all those hot things)

It's an ongoing mystery. We know it isn't good looks or charm. If you ask her, she'll say that it's because I'm a nice guy, but the people around here know THAT's a lie. So we just can't figure it out.

It's so good to see people I know, and people I really want to meet having such a good time together.

Quirt & co., the D'oh's, et al, I sure wish you could find a way out to SoCal in January. Smiler

or new york on january 11 & 12! be there!!

we need a big presence at barnes and noble lincoln center on the 11th so they'll sit up and take notice that this book is going places and make it what's called a "co-op" book, that is, one they put on display on the front table throughout all the B&N's of america.

b&n is now 75% of the book market. Eeker

we're even going to have a grand piano moved in for the event...

It woudl be great if you could get "Grand Obsession" put on the fallboard.

Is it going to be open for anyone to play?

i'm waiting to hear if a certain beloved pianist is going to be free to play that night. if so, it's his piano and he'll decide if people can play it. i would suspect they would be allowed to, at the end of the event, since the piano will be for sale.

if said beloved pianist is not available, then we'll find someone else, and the piano provided will be of the dealer's choosing, and yes, people will be able to play it.

Not true. I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it. Even though you didn't make it to the end, what you did play was very nicely done.

It certainly was a great party, many thanks to Quirt and his very lovely companion for being the kind and gracious hosts that they were. Very talented and adorable daughters and beautiful home too!

I was meeting the D'Ohs in person for the first time, and I've got to say that 'ol John has got himself a handsome family!

Also met, for the first time, rustyfingers' two multi-talented children who not only played piano duets, but also saved the world together with little D'Oh as guitar heroes! It's very heartwarming to see rustyfingers play duets with her children.

I think we have managed to redefine the Boston Tea Party.

Boston Tea Party (1773): An act of direct action by the American colonists against Great Britain in which they destroyed many crates of tea bricks on ships in Boston Harbor.

Boston Tea Party (2007): A gathering not too far from Boston attended by a cordial group of highly intelligent, handsomely witty, amazingly talented, and extremely beautiful people who were insufferably pleased with themselves.

Small, perhaps uninteresting story.

The house was originally built with two wall ovens, and a cooktop. The cooktop, however, was on a center island ... with no venting.

One of the people who lived here prior to me said, that's nuts!! So they put in a range along the wall, with a hood that vents to the outside.

The range comes, of course, with an oven.

So I have three ovens, the third of which is part of a six-burner stove.

It does make it easy cooking for parties.
